Wipers and wiper blades are quite helpful while traveling in rainy season. Wipers perform the work of a cleaner and efficiently clean the windshield of your vehicle, thereby allowing you to have a clearer view of the path. But with regular use, these blades get worn out and require proper replacement.

According to a survey, 20% of all road accidents occur due to reduced visibility. Windshield wipers help in enhancing visibility, thus minimizing the possibility of any mishaps on road. With proper maintenance and replacements wipers can be used for long periods of time.

It is very easy to change rear wiper and the whole replacement process takes few minutes only. To change rear wiper of your car you require very simple tools which can be easily found in homes. Some of the necessary tools required are:

• A flat or crowned screwdriver

• 8mm, 12mm, 15mm and 22mm spanners

• Nose pliers

• A magnetic tray to hold all the un-mounted screws

• Vehicle’s specific manual guide

The whole replacement process takes a maximum of 30 minutes. With the application of following steps you can easily change your car’s rear wiper

1: The first thing you have to do is carefully elevate the plastic cap and unscrew all 13mm screws. Then lift off the partially attached wiper arm and the plastic cover underneath it. Unscrew all the 22mm screws and then remove the wiper.

2: After removing the wiper, you should fold down the pass seats along with the rear seats.

3: After folding the rear seats, remove the rear panel, bend it and unplug all the connections with the wiper motor.

4: After removing all the connections, unscrew the 10mm bolts and as soon as you unscrew these bolts the whole assembly loosens and you can easily remove it from its brackets.

5: Now you can see a large U- shaped slot where you need to transfer the plastic piece. Change the rear wiper blades with new ones

6: After replacing the old wiper blades you need to fix it to its original position. For this you have to insert the actual sized screw into the hole on the windscreen and then put a washer and a bolt and tighten it so that it holds the wiper firmly onto its position.

7: Connect all necessary connections with the wiper motor and tape down all the wires and re-mount the whole rear wiper assembly.

8: Check the working of the rear wiper by supplying voltage to the rear wiper motor, if the wiper slips then by minute adjustment the whole rear wiper will work absolutely fine.
